In April, 1912, the Royal Mail Ship Titanic, steaming on her maiden voyage from Southampton England to New York, struck an iceberg approximately 1100 km Southeast of Halifax.
The ship, considered unsinkable by many at the time, sank within several hours. It is estimated that 1,517 people lost their lives in this great tragedy. Of more than 2, 200 passengers, only 705 were saved. The story however has continued to live on. Titanic has been the subject of 3 motion pictures and many books.
Author V.C. King has provided a modern twist on the Titanic story with her latest novel, Titanic: Relative Fate.
